”We will not do the big future we are looking for,
if we do not know the last large that we had.”
Commander Hugo Chavez
January 15, 2006
A few weeks ago I listened to a press conference and an interview to Jorge Rodríguez. In both news events, the president of the National Assembly of Venezuela explained the events lived in the country after the escape of the former candidate of the right-terrorist in the presidential elections, Edmundo González Urrutia. In this regard, and in particular in relation to the actions of the Spanish State, I gave the reflection to remember that throughout history, the family of Bourbon and his subordinates have used a similar pattern, by resorting to lying and manipulation of the information to defend their dark interests.
For its part, the government of Venezuela, picking up the baton from the lessons of our history and in first place of the lessons bequeath the Liberator and Father of the Homeland in the management of the high interests of the State has assumed – since 1999 - the responsibility of rescuing the values and principles that make up our nationality. For that, it has been imperative to understand the history as continuity, not as a break.
At the beginning of the year 1818, being in Angostura, among its many tasks and responsibilities, Bolivar cared to reveal the maneuvers carried out by the Spanish for spreading misinformation about the course of the war, while minimizing the success of the patriots venezuelans. With this goal, in an edict published in Angostura, the Civil Governor of Guiana Juan Vicente Cardoso on February 6, 1818, it was stated that the enemy was making efforts to destroy the political system of the Republic and that it was worth all the means at its disposal.
In consideration of this situation, he informed the population that had to report to the government, those fake news that spread on “events favourable to the enemy guns”, as they must give an account of documents of authors known or anonymous that were pursuing the same goal and denounce spies that circulate in the province, with the understanding that those who are in conflict with these measures, would be treated as adverse to the republic.
In the same sense, the Deliverer sent a letter to the governors and captains-general of the Antilles on the 1st of September, 1818 in order to refute the false information that they transmit the realistic. In particular, he wrote a letter to the captain-general of Barbados in order to deny a report that the Spanish general Pablo Morillo had addressed to the british official in the reporting of alleged victories of their forces.
Bolivar, with a hard language to refer to the lack of ethics in the Spanish when they dared to falsify quantities and data about the facts of the war and the casualties in the fighting, but maintaining a respectful tone of the standards, protocols, makes known, with figures of the true results of the military actions that were carried out, ensuring that the venezuelan army had inflicted crushing defeats to the Spanish in a series of battles, among which stands out Dungeon, Hat, San Fernando, the Door, Ortiz and Cojedes, in which the spaniards lost five thousand men killed, wounded and prisoners, including the colonels López, González, Villa, Navas, Aragon and the Software and other heads between the first and the own Morillo and his second Latorre among the injured. Sets out in detail the contradictions of the figures that informs Morillo, which was a clear expression of false news about the course of the war.
He concludes by saying that, given the course of events, it would not be long before the time in which Morillo could no longer dating from Venezuela “its liars offices”. Ends by expressing the Captain-General, with the understanding that had bothered her attention to these details, had found it necessary to bring it to the attention of the data provided in order not to be misled by false information to the enemy, considering that to be certain the data provided by Morillo, would have already occupied all of the territory of Venezuela that has actually been lost in the last campaign, reducing the Spanish army of the saddest defensive in mountainous areas and in Caracas.
Two hundred and six years later, the Spanish State, in particular its government, following its tradition, is still lying. In the framework of the recent events, first, his chancellor “reported” that there had been no negotiation with the government of Venezuela to send a military aircraft to locate González Urrutia. Any person could ask yourself if the aircraft entered venezuelan territory surreptitiously and in an undercover operation led to the former candidate. It was not so, they negotiated the entrance to the plane, its replenishment in the hangars of the venezuelan government and the arrival of the passenger to make your trip. Let us say it clearly: the Spanish foreign minister is a liar customary and obsessive. Among other things, for this reason, the foreign policy of Spain has no credibility.
On the other hand, the ex-candidate “reported” that he was coerced to sign the letter in which he requested his safe passage out of the country. A letter in which in addition to recognizing the institutions of venezuela and president Nicolás Maduro as the only head of State of the country, was given to Jorge Rodriguez to the interior of the embassy of Spain to where they entered the venezuelan authorities with the authorization of the representative of the monarchy in the country. In this case, it would be worth to ask: was there collusion between the government of the kingdom, and Venezuela to coerce in spain, González? This time, the defeated candidate, already in the territory of the kingdom and protected by the bourbon monarchy misrepresented. Themselves, in the voice of his chancellor, denied it.
Assume that the subordination barking to Washington grants the possibility of lying without brazenly espouse and that people are stupid and will believe, is nothing more than an expression of the pride imperial of a country decried that since more than 200 years ago using the falsehood, the comedy, and the disguise as a policy.
The Spanish you can say anything, no matter the veracity of what is “reports”: The Country and RTVE in charge of transforming any opinion in an instrument of deception. But we learned in the imprint of Bolivar and the pedagogy of Chávez that our truth is more powerful than any weapon that you intend to use the colonialism bourbon. So it was in the NINETEENTH century, and is so now, in the XXI century in this nation recovered.
In Venezuela there is a legacy and a heritage that had been lost and neglected in the past colonial history of the country. But now it's part of our heritage. We owe it to the commander Hugo Chávez, who retrieved it for all venezuelans.
In the framework of the 5th Summit of the Americas held in Trinidad and Tobago in April 2009, the president of the united States Barak Obama proposed the american forward the story and look at forward. He said that we could not “afford to be prisoners of disagreements of the past” and added that he had not come to the event to “discuss on the past but to think of the future.”
To know the past and to understand because the Latin americans, we cling to it and don't forget, president Chavez gave his us counterpart a copy of the extraordinary work of uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano, “The open veins of Latin America”. No one knows if Obama read the book of Galeano but wanting him to “forget the past”, and “think” in the future, six years later, in 2015, he declared that Venezuela was a “threat unusual and extraordinary to the security of the united States”. Less evil that we do not forget Bolivar and our history: “the united States seems destined by providence to plagar the America of misery, in the name of freedom”. So, attached to our history, we can endure and we will overcome.
That same year, 2015, at the Summit of the Americas in Panama, Obama reiterated his proposal made six years before: "Forget the past and let's build the future together". Draws attention to the continuity and perseverance in the matter. It seems obvious that there is something in our history that the presidents of the united States reject and fear.
